METHOD

 

  • Cook rice with salt till just done and cool soak tamarind in water and extrait the juice. Roast black and Bengal gram and red chillies separately and grind to a powder.

  • Heat oil, add asafeotida, mustard seeds, pepper corn, turmeric green chillies, ginger and chopped curry leaves.

  • When mustard seeds crackle add tamarind extract, powdered slices and salt.

  • Cook till all the water evaporates and mixture thickens.

  • Mix the tamarind mixture thoroughly with rice cover and serve hot.
