Chauli beans

Tamarind

Green chillies

5 gm

Turmeric

3 gm

Grated coconut

5 gm

Red chilli powder

5 gm

Coriander

¼ bunch

Oil

30 ml

Lemon

 

Mustard seed

A pinch

Salt

To taste

Asafetida

A pinch

 

 

 

METHOD

 

Peak and soak the beans overnight. Boil in the same water in which they were soaked with green chillies until tender.

Heat oil add mustard seed when they crackle add chopped onions.

When slightly brown add turmeric, red chillies, asafetida, lemon juice.

Add boiled beans and cook for 10-15 mins.

Add salt and when cooked serve hot.

Garnished with grated coconut and green coriander.
